The Book of Jubilees: Part 12 (Lesser Genesis)

  Hi, and thank you for joining me at 144Judah!  "The Book of the Jubilees" which is also known by some as "Lesser Genesis" is a very interesting book as it gives us more background and how the background was given. We learned in part one that Moses received this word on Mount Sinai from an Angel/Malek (Messenger) of the LORD, in the second chapter, we learn about what God created and on which days...and we also learn that God's Chosen People: ISRAEL are to keep the Shabbats. To not do so is to die. Yesterday, we learned that Adam and Eve were cursed for taking from the tree in the middle of the Garden, then we go down the lines until we hit Noah and his family and learn that there were a lot more people born of Adam and Eve then we have heard of in Genesis. After this, Noah gets into the Ark and the waters begin to rise; and the world completely changes and we are given our calendar. 13 weeks between each change of the season. 4 Divisions. Each start at the Observance of the New Moon. 364 Day calendar! As Noah commands his son about the observances and of what he sees of his own children and how they have been fighting and their children aren't doing what they are supposed to, Noah tells them that he worries that they will be taken care of by God...and not in a good way, which leads us to the sons of Noah dividing their inheritance (the earth) by using lots. We learn of the land which they decided upon, and Noah is overjoyed because of a prophecy that he had spoken about Shem and The Almighty God blessing him. Who are Shem's people -- eventually? The Sons of Jacob...The Twelve Tribes... ISRAEL. And in the 9th Chapter, Noah has his son's swear an oath that when they divide their land to their sons, that none of them will try to take any of their brothers' land. What happens if they do? Cursed... which brings us to Canaan and how he stole from Shem's lot... which makes a lot more sense as to why Canaan is The Land of Milk and Honey and how it is The Promised Land of God's Chosen People through Shem's line. And now we are at the 11th part.

The Book Of Jubilees Chapter 12

Abram destroys Terah his father's idols

1 And it came to pass in the sixth week, in the seventh year thereof, [1904 A.M.] that Abram said to Terah his father, saying, 'Father!'

2 And he said, 'Behold, here am I, my son.' And he said, 'What help and profit have we from those idols which you do worship, And before which you do bow yourself?

3 For there is no spirit in them, For they are dumb forms, and a misleading of the heart.

4 Worship them not: Worship YAHWEH the Sovereign Ruler of heaven, Who causes the rain and the dew to descend on the earth And does everything upon the earth, And has created everything by His word, And all life is from before His face.

5 Why do you worship things that have no spirit in them? For they are the work of hands, And on your shoulders do you bear them, And you have no help from them, But they are a great cause of shame to those who make them, And a misleading of the heart to those who worship them: Worship them not.'  (This is such a good lesson... this is all man-made... do not worship things of men, worship THE MOST HIGH instead.)

6 And his father said to him, I also know it, my son, but what shall I do with a people who have made me to serve before them?

7 And if I tell them the truth, they will slay me; for their soul cleaves to them to worship them and honor them. Keep silent, my son, lest they slay you.' And these words he spoke to his two brothers, and they were angry with him and he kept silent. (They are worried about offending people and not God...This is the problem with the world today. Everyone is afraid of offending people, offending traditions. This is where we need to stand up and look within and see the things that we have done, the gods that we have served. The idols that we hold dear to us and have made them gods. It is time to take out the trash!)

9 And in the fortieth jubilee, in the second week, in the seventh year thereof, [1925 A.M.] Abram took to himself a wife, and her name was Sarai, the daughter of his father, and she became his wife. (Well, right here it says she is his sister...insane to me. lol But I know they did this as birthrights went through households... In Genesis it is really unclear until Sarai mentions something offhand. Here it is plainly stated.)

10 And Haran, his brother, took to himself a wife in the third year of the third week, [1928 A.M.] and she bare him a son in the seventh year of this week, [1932 A.M.] and he called his name Lot.

11 And Nahor, his brother, took to himself a wife.

12 And in the sixtieth year of the life of Abram, that is, in the fourth week, in the fourth year thereof, [1936 A.M.] Abram arose by night, and burned the house of the idols, and he burned all that was in the house and no man knew it. (Go Abraham!)

13 And they arose in the night and sought to save their gods from the midst of the fire.

14 And Haran hasted to save them, but the fire flamed over him, and he was burnt in the fire, and he died in Ur of the Chaldees before Terah his father, and they buried him in Ur of the Chaldees. (Well...this is kind of what you get... sucks for Abraham, but... Now this makes more sense why Lot was with Abraham... This also isn't mentioned and is now in this book.)

15 And Terah went forth from Ur of the Chaldees, he and his sons, to go into the land of Lebanon and into the land of Canaan, and he dwelt in the land of Haran, and Abram dwelt with Terah his father in Haran two weeks of years.

16 And in the sixth week, in the fifth year thereof, [1951 A.M.] Abram sat up throughout the night on the new month of the seventh month to observe the stars from the evening to the morning, in order to see what would be the character of the year with regard to the rains, and he was alone as he sat and observed.

17 And a word came into his heart and he said: All the signs of the stars, and the signs of the moon and of the sun are all in the hand of YAHWEH. Why do I search them out?

18 If He desires, He causes it to rain, morning and evening; And if He desires, He withholds it, And all things are in his hand.'

19 And he prayed that night and said, 'My Sovereign Ruler, YAHWEH Most High, You alone are my Sovereign Ruler, And You and Your dominion have I chosen. And You have created all things, And all things that are the work of Your hands.

20 Deliver me from the hands of evil spirits who have dominion over the thoughts of men's hearts, and let them not lead me astray from You, my Sovereign Ruler. And establish You me and my seed forever that we go not astray from henceforth and forevermore.'

21 And he said, 'Shall I return unto Ur of the Chaldees who seek my face that I may return to them, am I to remain here in this place? The right path before You prosper it in the hands of Your servant that he may fulfill it and that I may not walk in the deceitfulness of my heart, O YAHWEH my Sovereign Ruler.'

22 And he made an end of speaking and praying, and behold the word of YAHWEH was sent to him through me, saying: 'Get you up from your country, and from your kindred and from the house of your father unto a land which I will show you, and I shall make you a great and numerous nation.  (CHILLS)

23 And I will bless you And I will make your name great, And you shall be blessed in the earth, And in You shall all families of the earth be blessed, And I will bless them that bless you, And curse them that curse you.

24 And I will be a Sovereign Ruler to you and your son, and to your son's son, and to all your seed: fear not, from henceforth and unto all generations of the earth I am YAHWEH your Sovereign Ruler.'

25 And YAHWEH ALMIGHTY said: 'Open his mouth and his ears, that he may hear and speak with his mouth, with the language which has been revealed'; for it had ceased from the mouths of all the children of men from the day of the overthrow (of Babel).

26 And I opened his mouth, and his ears and his lips, and I began to speak with him in Hebrew in the tongue of the creation.  (OH WOW! CHILLS EVERYWHERE... THIS is amazing and totally fits with The book of Formation... SO NOW, he is hearing the original Hebrew, the Language of God, the language that was confounded since Bable, and now...Abraham was given it... THE WORD... )

27 And he took the books of his fathers, and these were written in Hebrew, and he transcribed them, and he began from henceforth to study them, and I made known to him that which he could not (understand), and he studied them during the six rainy months. (OHHHH These books of his fathers....these would have been the books of Noah that were passed down and went to Shem... They couldn't understand the books because their language was messed up! 28 And it came to pass in the seventh year of the sixth week [1953 A.M.] that he spoke to his father and informed him, that he would leave Haran to go into the land of Canaan (The Land of Milk and Honey) to see it and return to him.

29 And Terah his father said to him; Go in shalom (Peace): May the eternal YAHWEH make your path straight. And YAHWEH be with you, and protect you from all evil, And grant unto you free unmerited pardon, mercy and favour before those who see you, And may none of the children of men have power over you to harm you; Go in shalom.

30 And if you see a land pleasant to your eyes to dwell in, then arise and take me to you and take Lot with you, the son of Haran your brother as your own son: YAHWEH be with you. (Beautiful, and here we go)

31 And Nahor your brother leave with me till you return in shalom, and we go with you all together.'

WOW!  I absolutely LOVE this book. This all fills in the gaps of the words that we have been already given. This makes so much more sense biblically. Now we know why Lot is with Abraham, and we know why Lot was spared during his time at Sodom and Gomorrah, and we know the coolest part ever... Abraham speaks the language of The Almighty God and why when he spoke his words manifested! This is just cool... I can't wait to dig back into "The Book of Formation" and talk about it in another blog...but first, I want to get all the way through this, and then we will do a little fun before finishing Exodus. Genesis Part 10: Abraham takes another wife! Isaac, Rebekkah and the twins, Birthrights and blessings and ladders...oh myyyy!

Hi, 144Judah fans! We are coming back from yesterday's blog where Sarah died, Rebekah and Isaac get married, and Abraham once again takes a wife! How old is he again?! 

Genesis 25:1-18 "Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And Jokshan begat Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Lemmim. And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. And all these were the children of Keturah. And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and  sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country. And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years. Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. And his sons Isaac and Ishamel buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre; The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife. And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi. Now these are the generations of Ishamel, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham: And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massah, Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered  unto his people. And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presense of all his bretheren." 

So as you can see, Abraham really is the father of all nations!  And he was super blessed, and we haven't even gotten to Isaac yet. 

"And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac: And Isaac was  forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daugther of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian. And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, if it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. 

One of the things that I find super interesting here is that we have two nations that will rise against one another. 

So, we know that Abraham is the father of the Abrahamic Religions...

Islam, and Judaism, which then also branch out as the twelve tribes expand and Judah, has one of the biggest religions stems from Jesus (Christianity).

The Abrahamic religions are a group of religions centered around the worship of the God of Abraham. Abraham, a Hebrew patriarch,^[1][2] is extensively mentioned throughout the Abrahamic religious scriptures of the Quran, and the Hebrew and Christian Bibles.^[2][3]

Jewish tradition claims that the Twelve Tribes of Israel are descended from Abraham through his son Isaac and grandson Jacob, whose sons formed the nation of the Israelites in Canaan (or the Land of Israel); Islamic tradition claims that twelve Arab tribes known as the Ishmaelites are descended from Abraham through his son Ishmael in the Arabian Peninsula.^[4][5]

In its early stages, the Israelite religion was derived from the Canaanite religions of the Bronze Age; by the Iron Age, it had become distinct from other Canaanite religions as it shed polytheism for monolatry. The monolatrist nature of Yahwism was further developed in the period following the Babylonian captivity, eventually emerging as a firm religious movement of monotheism.^[6][7][8] In the 1st century CE, Christianity emerged as a splinter movement out of Judaism in the Land of Israel, developed under the Apostles of Jesus of Nazareth;^[1] it spread widely after it was adopted by the Roman Empire as a state religion in the 4th century CE. In the 7th century CE, Islam was founded by Muhammad in the Arabian Peninsula; it spread widely through the early Muslim conquests, shortly after his death.^[1]

Alongside the Indian religions, the Iranian religions, and the East Asian religions, the Abrahamic religions make up the largest major division in comparative religion.^[9] By total number of adherents, Christianity and Islam comprise the largest and second-largest religious movements in the world, respectively.^{[10][page needed]} Abrahamic religions with fewer adherents include Judaism,^[10] the Baháʼí Faith,^[2][11][12] Druzism,^[2][13] Samaritanism,^[2] and Rastafari.^[2][14]

Back to the twins... 

So, we have two children. One is favored for the father and the other is favored of the mother. 

Genesis 25:27-28 "And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, and man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob."

Main points of their story:

• Jacob and Esau were twin sons of Isaac and Rebekah.
• Esau was born first, and his name means “hairy.”
• Genesis 25:25 "And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau."
• Jacob was born holding onto Esau’s heel, and his name means “grabber” or “trickster.”
• Genesis 25:26 "And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them."
• Isaac favored Esau, but Rebekah favored Jacob.
• Genesis 25:28 "And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob."
• Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for lentil stew when he was hungry.
• Genesis 25:32 "And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright."
• Esau took two Hittite wives for himself which created disruption for Rebekah and Isaac.
• Genesis 26:34-35 "And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah. 
• Rebekah encouraged and helped Jacob steal Esau’s blessing.
• Genesis 27:1-8 "And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it. And Rebekahh spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee."
• Esau was brokenhearted and enraged after being deceived, threatening to kill Jacob.
• Genesis 27:41 "And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob." 
• Jacob received a blessing from Isaac to find a God-honoring wife in a distant land.
• Genesis 28:1 "And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan."
• Esau married one of Ishmael’s daughters to make things right with his parents.
• Genesis 28:9 "Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife. 
• Jacob and Esau resolved their differences after over fourteen years and made peace.
• Genesis 33:10 "And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me."

Another interesting fun fact: 

So, remember how Abram kept lying about his wife being his sister, but really kind of turns out that they were, which...tmi, but anyway, now Jacob does it, too. He lies about his wife because of course, she is beautiful, (What is with these people anyway?) and the whole trickery happens again, and God blesses them once more with stuff as the people end up giving it to Jacob and he is favored just like Abraham. Later on throughout this book of the bible, we learn that Jacob has a dream (the whole Jacob's ladder thing, where the angels are ascending and descending to and from Heaven) and from this he learns that this is indeed God's land, and since it is God's land and good things happen here, he will take Him as his God, and he pulls out a stone and places it and calls the place Beth-el. 

Bethel was an ancient Israelite sanctuary that is frequently mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. Bethel is first referred to in the Bible as being near the place that Abram pitches his tent. Later, Bethel is mentioned as the location of Jacob dreaming of a ladder leading to heaven, which he therefore names Bethel. The name is further used for a border city located between the territory of the Israelite tribe of Benjamin and that of the tribe of Ephraim, which first belongs to the Benjaminites and is later conquered by the Ephraimites. In the 4th century CE, Eusebius of Caesarea and Jerome described Bethel as a small village that lay 12 Roman miles north of Jerusalem to the right or the east of the road leading to Neapolis.

Jacob's dream: 

12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.”  He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”  (Genesis 28:12-17)

Notice the focus on the ladder representing the tabernacle or temple. This implies the necessity of sacrifices in order to bridge or restore the relationship between God and mankind.

What I have personally gotten from my meditations and visions is that we are the pillars. Which makes sense in all of these contexts. If you look at those pictures of the bodies that outline the chakras (energy centers) you can see that they are the rainbow body. When all colors join together, they turn white, which is a light pillar. That is when we are completely at balance within. The information that we get from God is just like Jacob's ladder, ascending the prayers go up, descending the info comes down. We are the temple. We have to sacrifice in order to bridge to God. This is taking up our cross. This is dying to self.
