Genesis.... Part 1

Hi, everyone! May God Bless Everyone here that reads this blog today and always. I debated on what I should write about today and I came to the conclusion that we should start at the very beginning. So...

Let's dig into Genesis. Genesis is a great start--truly. Genesis, as we learned from my last blog, was written by Moses. Genesis is also a huge book of the bible, being 80 pages long. So, this blog will be in several parts as referenced in the title of this blog.

What do we know in general about Genesis?

Moses wrote it around 1446 BC to 1406 (These are the years in which he wrote the entire Torah (The First Five Books of the Bible) )

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness." Genesis 1:1-4

So, God created everything. In The New Testament, John speaks about the beginning, and this makes the entire start of creation make even more sense. Look below:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."  John 1:1-5 (St. John)

Here we learn that the WORD was the beginning... so the world was spoken into existence. All THINGS were made by HIM and there was nothing that was MADE that wasn't.... Read on.

"He was not that Light, (John The Baptist) but was sent to bear witness of that Light. which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even into them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:8-14

What does this mean? Well...it means that even in the beginning there was Yeshua! (Jesus) And if you have ever questioned if Yeshua was GOD or The Son of God, the answer is right here in John chapter 1. And not only that, but He is that LIGHT that LIGHTETH every man that cometh into the world. He is the goodness in all.
When He got here, there were people that didn't know Him. People that professed to know God. But as it says in John... the darkness comprehended him not.

So, going back to Genesis. God is in all things and without God nothing was in existence. He is the spoken word. He is creation. When spoken there was creation. So, He begins creating...

Day 1: God created Light and God divided the light from the dark and called the light day and the darkness night and that was the first day.

Day 2: God said Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and divided the waters from the waters. And God called the firmament Heaven, and the evening and the morning were the second day.

Day 3: God said let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place and let the dry land appear and called the waters "Seas" and the land "Earth" and then he brought forth grass, here yielding seed and the fruit tree whose seed is in itself and that was the third day.

Day 4: God said let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night and let them be for signs and for season and days and years, and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and lesser light to rule the night: he made stars also... So, He made the constellations and he made the sun and the moon. And He gave us these for signs! (This also lines up with Matthew in The New Testament when Matthew tells us the story and the voyage of The Wiseman (Magi) coming to see Yeshua's (Jesus's) birth.

Day 5: This day God created sea animals and birds. Genesis mentions whales and every winged fowl. And He told them to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the waters in the seas and to let the fowl multiply in the earth.

Day 6: This day He said "Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Day 7: God ended his work which he had made, and he rested on this day. He blessed the seventh day and sanctified it (make holy, set aside apart as sacred, consecrated) because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Fun fact:
I asked God a long time ago if the earth was round or if it was flat (based on the idea of the firmament...) And, he said neither. It is a Torus. A toroidal field.

Another fun fact... I had no idea what that was when I asked and had to look it up. I found this video years later!  Very cool:)
